Speaker: Mike Wein, Founder and President - Specific Edge

Topic: Developing a Specific Edge for Landing Your Dream Job

In this hyper competitive job market, effectively differentiating yourself from all the other candidates is critical requirement for success. Mike Wien helps audience members apply some of the same principles used by the marketing departments of Fortune 500 companies to harness the power of being specific. Mike uses examples from the business world and the triathlon world to educate and inspire people on easy to implement ideas that will help position an individual as the preferred candidate to fill a senior management position within an organization.

BIO: After spending 28 years in senior marketing positions with Frito-Lay, Pepsi, Omni Hotels, CitiBank and Deloitte, Mike Wien left the corporate world 12 years ago to become an adjunct professor of marketing at Georgia State University, a consultant dedicated to helping entrepreneurial organizations become more effective at growing their business and an Ironman Triathlete who is a regular competitor in the World Championship. This unusual combination of real life experiences has given Mike the content to write a book and develop an inspirational speech that focuses on creating a competitive advantage. He weaves relevant stories from his business and triathlon careers into a speech filled with practical ideas for being more successful in a business, a career, a relationship, or in life.

Mike has an MBA in Marketing from the Kellogg School at Northwestern University and a B.S in business from Colorado State University. He is active in his community serving on four not-for-profit boards including the Atlanta Track Club and USA Triathlon, the governing body for triathlons within the United States Olympic Committee.
