After living in Glenview, Illinois for 36 years, we sold our home and most of our belongings in October, 2016 and traveled to 40 States and 14 countries since then. I am currently working on my temporary residency Visa in Ecuador and spend a month or two in Tucson and any off the beaten path destination that is remotely reasonable, I continue to service one client in the Chicago area, a small for-profit family owned corporation just opened their first creperie after making crepes at local farmers markets, sourcing ingredients from local farmers and suppliers for 8years. Until 2017, I also had a behavioral services not-for-profit client for whom I produced monthly financial statements and worked on special projects;
In 2013 and early 2014, I consulted at Jewish Vocational Services to assist in preparation for the annual audit procedures.
Myrna J. Newman was Chief Financial Officer and Secretary of Professional Diversity Network (f/k/a iHispano.com) from February 2012 until July 2013. During that time I completed an IPO for the Company as well as establishment of GAAP accounting for the LLC and Corporation. Prior to joining PDN, I served as interim Chief Financial Officer for Jewish Vocational Services of Chicago from 2009 to 2010. From 2008 to 2009, I was Corporate Controller for Atlas Material Testing L.L.C., a manufacturer of weathering and material testing solutions. I served as Controller, Chief Accounting Officer and Principal Financial Officer of Motient Corporation, a wireless data communications network from April 2003 until June 2007. Prior to that, Myrna J. Newman was Vice President of Finance at Heads and Threads International LLC, an importer and distributor of metal fasteners. Myrna J. Newman is a Certified Public Accountant and received an M.B.A. from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business and her B.S. in Accountancy from DePaul University.
MJ also served as Treasurer for The Optimist Club of Glenview for fifteen years and as Treasurer for Youth Services of Glenview/Northbrook from 2007 until 2016.
