GREAT NEWS! I just received a copy of a letter from the NC State Board of
Certified Public Accountant Examiners to Representative Grier Martin. Rep.
Martin has pleaded the case for allowing FENG members and others who earned
CPA licenses in other states to identify themselves as CPA's when pursuing
employment in business and industry.

The Board now agrees that it is OK to use "CPA" or "certified public
accountant" on your resume as long as you also state the jurisdiction and
status.

This is a major victory for many FENG members, and I appreciate the input
from many of our members who helped push this issue uphill. Special
acknowledgement also goes to Rep. Martin and Jim Ahler, CEO of the NC
Association of CPAs.

Great news,

I know a lot of people use the CPA designation out of state and probably don't know it was even an issue.

I'm licensed in NC, but live in SC. I always use CPA (NC), on my signature and state I'm licensed in NC and my license number on my resume.

Thanks again,

Ian
