Position Description: Finance Analyst

Basic Function: The Finance Analyst position is accountable for the ongoing analysis of process constraints, target costing projects, margin analysis, and tracing costs back to underlying activities.  The Finance analyst will also cover cost accounting tasks and must also construct and monitor those cost-effective data accumulation systems needed to provide an appropriate level of costing information to management, including the ongoing project of SAP Implementation. This is a new position for the company so it offers a great opportunity to create an own footprint.

Principal Accountabilities:

 Data Collection

 Construct data accumulation systems for a cost accounting system.

 Create and review the controls needed for data accumulation and reporting systems.


Update costs in the bill of materials.

Review actual costs for inaccuracies.

Validate the cost of goods sold as part of the month-end close.

Accumulate and apply overhead costs as required by generally accepted accounting principles.


Conduct ongoing process constraint analyses.

Report on margins by product and division.

Report on periodic variances and their causes, focusing in particular on spending variances.

Analyze capital budgeting requests.

Perform cost accumulation tasks as a member of the target costing group.

 SAP Key User

Will be the Key User for SAP Controlling and attend all training and implementation sessions executing activities related to this task.

Required Qualifications:

5+ years of accounting/finance experience in the role and using SAP.

BA/BS degree

Well as excellent analysis skills and the ability to collaborate with a multi-department team. 

Strong Experience manipulating large databases (i.e. EXCEL).

Must have knowledge and experience in FP&A and Management reporting

Written and oral communication skills in the English language; presentational skills, with the ability to vary delivery and style to fit the intended audience. Ability to communicate ideas in both financial and user-friendly language.

Ability to travel internationally as needed

Confident, possessing initiative. Knowledge of and experience with SAP, Hyperion, MS Excel, Powerpoint and Word.

Working Conditions: The Finance Analyst generally works in an office environment, but is expected to be highly familiar with all production operations, and to regularly visit all significant company operations. Some traveling might be required occasionally.
