Financial Controller


Privately owned contractor in west Houston is in need of a controller.  Position will report directly to the President and will be responsible for the accounting function for the company.   Company has been in business since 2005 and is located in a desirable location in west Houston. 



Key duties will include:

Insure month end closing is complete and accurate.

Own the general ledger and sub-systems and coordinate with IT to insure key data is properly maintained and backed up.

Produce monthly financial statement in accordance to US GAAP and provide to the President and senior staff.

Financial analysis of monthly results to highlight significant variances.

Ensure the balance sheet accounts are reconciled on a timely basis and proper action taken if required.

Prepare forecasts and budgets as requested.

Manage annual audit and provide external auditors with supporting documentation as required.

Insure billings are timely and accurate and collect/monitor accounts receivable.

Manage accounts payable and cash disbursements.



Bachelor’s degree in accounting.  CPA is desirable.

Experience in accounting 7-10 years.

Understanding of construction accounting and industry is highly desirable.

Team player with strong communication skills, both written and oral.

Proficient with Microsoft products.

Experience with QuickBooks desirable.
