EditorialsBy Matt Bud, Chairman, The FENG

As we begin another week with a significant percentage of the US economy shut down, I hope tonight’s newsletter finds you and yours in good health. In terms of everyone’s priorities, I would politely suggest that this be your primary focus.

With respect to the economy, at this point in time, I have no clue how they are going to put Humpty Dumpty back together again. It is my perspective that no one else does either. There are far too many pieces of the economic puzzle that have been seriously dislocated for you to use the prognostications coming from various sources as a guide for future actions.

There are only certain aspects of what is going on that are within your control. I hope all of you are practicing social distancing, wearing a mask and rubber gloves as appropriate. As you go about whatever business or other activities you need to take care of outside of your own home, I would urge you to follow all guidelines. If you don’t stay in good health, you’re not going to be of much use to your family members who are counting on you to lead them out of this mess.

What remains true is that whatever happens next, you will be in the best possible position if you continue following our mantra of NETWORKING, NETWORKING AND MORE NETWORKING. Everyone’s home. This has never happened before.

Instead of being “deer in the headlights,” take the time this week to create a strong foundation of relationships to facilitate finding your next great job. Have you honestly contacted everyone you have ever known to see how they are? Even if you haven’t talked to them in forever, you will be pleasantly surprised to learn how happy they are going to be to hear from you.

In addition to our remarkable Member Directory Search feature, in today’s world, you also have LinkedIn to help you track down those folks. Using these two tools will ensure you build a strong Inner Circle of Friends for whatever comes next.

We have on our website a document called “Member Directory Search Documentation.” You will find it under Members Area, Member Downloads, Other Useful Documents. Download it, read it, and take our Member Directory Search feature for a test drive. For LinkedIn, I’m sure you can “search it up” and find articles on how best to use it.

I am planning to do a webinar either this week or next to bring you up to the next level in using our remarkable Member Directory Search tool. So, watch for the notice in our newsletter.

We will just have to be careful not to bring Zoom to its knees.

Regards, Matt
