SIG Co-Chairs, Sandy Petty and Avani Doshi’s discussion at the September 2021 meeting on starting their own independent consulting practices was very well received with the majority of participants expressed interest in a follow-up discussion. At the January meeting, Sandy and Avani will discuss the basics of setting up such a consulting practice.

Avani Doshi: 
Avani Doshi is the Founder and Principal of A. Doshi LLC, a consulting firm providing practical finance-based solutions to business challenges and fractional finance leadership – experienced strategic and tactical CFO services in part-time roles for growing and expanding businesses, including start-ups.

Avani combines over 20+ years of public accounting and industry experience at companies such as KPMG and Goodyear with her family’s entrepreneurial and business focus. Her solutions leverage the tools and techniques deployed by large corporations with the long-term perspectives and immediate priorities of owner-managed small and mid-sized businesses, optimally balancing limited resources for maximum benefit.

Avani’s expertize covers the span of finance functions including US GAAP accounting, forecasting, financial planning and analysis, budgetary compliance, cash and working capital management, internal controls, debt compliance, audits and SEC reporting. She also has significant experience on projects related to capex investments and divestitures, capital market transactions, treasury operations and external stakeholder reporting. Additionally, she has managed large teams and facilitated succession planning.

A CPA and fluent in 3 Indian languages, Avani has worked extensively with individuals from diverse cultures and backgrounds around the world, including a combined 10 years of working in India and China.
 

Sandy Petty:
Sandy is a trusted advisor to company presidents and is known for her ability to build financial infrastructures and high performing teams. She brings over 30 years of accounting and finance experience, having served companies in every growth stage: from startup to companies experiencing exponential growth, to fortune companies. She is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA) and is an Advanced Certified QuickBooks Online ProAdvisor. She is also certified in Human Resources with her SHRM-CP and PHR.

Sandy is the Chief Financial Officer and Managing Partner of Executive Financial Partners, LLC, a virtual boutique accounting firm primarily serving women owned businesses with revenues in the $1M-$5M range.
