Presentation:
Resilience is the ability to bounce back after hardship or failure. Over the last two years, whether we like it or not, everyone has grown more resilient. However, is resilience one of those characteristics that can only be developed when you’ve been dealt unfortunate external circumstances? Can you build resilience without waiting for the next global catastrophe to hit? I believe the answer is “yes” and during this message I will share three simple ways to keep developing into a resilient professional regardless of your current circumstances.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES
- Understand the importance of regularly leaving your professional comfort zone
- Celebrate and normalize the lessons learned from failure
- Recognize when fear and shame are holding you back

Speaker’s bio:
The first two decades of Adam's career couldn't have been more different. After graduating from Clemson University with an accounting degree, he spent ten years as a CPA working with PriceWaterhouseCoopers, The Neiman Marcus Group and finally BKD CPAs & Advisors. The next ten years of his career were spent working at Watermark Community Church. While on staff, he had stints leading in the marriage ministry, college ministry, and ended his time at Watermark as the Director of Arts. Over his career, Adam has spoken over 500 times in churches and businesses. Throughout this time, he has become an expert in communication and engagement.  Adam has a unique gift for making the complex simple and disarming audiences with his wit, humility, and self-deprecating humor.

Adam has been married since December 2003 and has two boys. Free time in the Tarnow house typically involves playing, watching, or talking about some type of sport (especially baseball, basketball, or golf).
