Course Contents:
Federal Tax Update – Recap of 2020 Coronavirus legislation. Summary discussion of the major tax implications resulting from the CARES Act enacted on March 27, 2020. Summary discussion of the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2021 (aka - Tax Certainty and Disaster Tax Relief Act) enacted on December 27, 2020. Summary of changes to certain IRS forms for 2020 tax filing season.
State Tax Update – Recent law changes in last few years that will effect current income tax filing season. An outlook as to where states now are and where they are headed. Including an update around sales tax and property taxes.

At the conclusion of this presentation, participants will be familiar with the certain highlighted portions of the coronavirus legislation that will impact the upcoming tax filing season. Participants will have an overview of how the recent legislation signed on December 27, 2020 impacts previous 2020 legislation as well as the implication for 2021. Participants will have a general overview of what updates the IRS has made to certain tax forms. Participants will also be familiar with recent state taxation laws and trends.
