John Rose is the Founder of Linear Group, where he advises and builds at the intersection of finance and emerging technologies. His recent work includes hands-on development with large language models, agentic financial modeling workflows, and participation in Karpathy’s open-source GPT reference implementation.
 

Previously, John spent 15 years at AT&T in corporate finance and strategy, where he led financial planning tied to infrastructure and technology shifts, and advised on the $109B Time Warner merger. He began his career at IBM as a Linux kernel engineer, advancing open-source software and high-performance computing.
 

John holds an MBA from Southern Methodist University and a Computer Engineering degree from Texas A&M.
