Topic: Challenges and Opportunities of Monetizing Environmental Assets in LATAM

Speaker: Carlos Hirsch, Managing Director for LATAM at Arva

Presentation:

Carlos will discuss what he is doing now at Arva with reduction of emissions in the ag supply chain and expanding this US based company into LATAM.

The company connects CPGs with farmers and helps measure the environmental impact and reward farmers that are doing regenerative agriculture.

In the last 2 years Arva paid out $60 million to farmers across 15 crops in many US states, and 3 countries in LATAM.

Speaker's bio:

Carlos is passionate about the intersection of agriculture, technology, and people. He has been in the Ag Industry for over 25yrs and built an accomplished career in seed production, technology development and SaaS businesses. He has an agronomy degree from ESALQ in Piracicaba, Brazil and an Executive MBA from Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri.

At Arva, Carlos is leading the expansion into Latin America where Arva already has some CPG clients asking for environmental assets in the region. His network and knowledge of the region should help Arva position itself as the leader in this field.

He resides with his wife and daughter in St. Louis, MO.
