Stan is the former president and CEO of PQ Corporation. He is the author of Be Different! The Key to Business and Career Success, a book that describes traits and practices of effective leaders. It also teaches all of us as we progress through our careers how to be different than our peers, so we get that next promotion or job.

Stan began his business career as a chemical process engineer at ARCO (Atlantic Richfield), subsequently acquired by BP (British Petroleum). Stan joined PQ Corporation in 1971. Prior to being named as CEO of PQ in January 2000, he held positions in engineering, operations planning, marketing, sales and business unit executive management, including president of PQ’s subsidiary in Canada.
