Matt Gauen and Stephen Glazier of Woodruff Sawyer will discuss workplace violence regulations.

Matt Gauen, Senior Vice President & Partner Property and Casualty, supports client's strategic and day-to-day needs and assumes primary responsibility for negotiation and placement for their P&C programs.  Matt has been in the industry since 1985.  Prior to joining Woodruff, he spent 19 years at Marsh where he was senior vice president in the global  technology, media and telecommunications practice in the Newport Beach office.  In addition to the industries described, Matt has extensive experience working with other industry segments such as life science, manufacturing and distribtion.  He also has experience in complex coverages such as errors & omissions and international risk.  Matt has a bachelors degree from Arizona State and holds CIC and CPCU designations.   In 2014, Matt was recognized by the National Society of CIC for 25 years of professional leadership and advanced knowledge as a designated CIC.  

 

Stephen Glazier has been a Loss Control Consultant in the Denver office of Woodruff Sawyer.  Prior to that, he worker in loss control at Marsh for almost 14 years.

With over 20 years of insurance industry and 27 years of injury prevention experience, Stephen provides loss and program analysis and helps our clients develop strategies to address a wide variety of workers’ compensation and property & casualty issues. He specializes in gap identification related to employee injury prevention, ergonomics, OSHA compliance and response, behavioral safety, and general life safety. He also helps clients manage carrier loss control services and with facility site audits and hazard identification.

Stephen has served a variety of client industries, including but not limited to; heavy civil, vertical, utility, light rail and other construction (from both an OCIP and contractor perspective), warehousing and logistics, fleet operations, foundries, manufacturing, modular building section assembly.

As a licensed physical therapist for more than 20 years, Stephen has treated workers’ comp and auto claimants in a physical therapy clinic and taught college-level courses in biomechanics. He served for 4 years as a loss control consultant for Royal and Sun Alliance and 13 years as a loss control consultant for Marsh and McLennan before joining Woodruff-Sawyer in 2017. Stephen is a speaker for numerous national safety summits to address safety program and management issues that affect businesses and employers. He developed customized safety training for many industries on ergonomics, fall prevention, root case analysis, OSHA regulatory updates and recordkeeping, and more.

Stephen has a bachelor’s degree from Liberty University and a master’s degree from Regis University.
