Folklore and myth are as prevalent in government contractor compliance as actual statutes and regulations. Meals and Entertainment are an excellent example where contractors often encounter more folklore than facts. We will explore some of the facts.
Speaker's bio:
Stephen A. Avery enjoys over thirty-five years’ experience with government contractors working on financial management and contractor compliance. working with the:
- Department of Defense,
- Department of Energy,
- Department of Health & Human Services,
- Department of Agriculture,
- Department of Commerce,
- and various state and local contracts.
Steve is the author of two books on government contractor compliance: Accounting Policies and Procedures for Small Government Contractors working with the DCAA and other Government Agencies (5th edition) and Surviving a DCAA Audit (2nd Edition).
Clients range from small nonprofits and 8(a) companies to subsidiaries of Lockheed Martin. Steve taught accounting on both the graduate and undergraduate level for and is a combat infantry veteran of the 82d Airborne Division.
