If you've recently received a letter from the State of Colorado about Colorado SecureSavings, you're not alone—and it's important not to ignore it. Colorado law now requires many employers to either offer a qualified retirement plan, such as a 401(k) or IRA, or register with the state's Colorado SecureSavings program. If enrolled in the state program, eligible employees are automatically contribute 5% of pay to a state-sponsored Roth IRA unless they choose to opt out or change their contribution rate. In this session, we'll explain who the law applies to, what your responsibilities are as an employer, and the options available so you can determine the best path for your business.
Shane Bohlender, CPA, MBA is the founder of Bohlender & Co., CPAs, where he provides tax, advisory, and fractional CFO services to businesses across a variety of industries. With more than 30 years of experience in public accounting and executive financial leadership—including roles with Deloitte, PwC, and as a Division CFO—Shane helps business owners navigate complex financial and regulatory requirements with practical, business-focused guidance.
