Chat with Matt – Featuring Nick Corcodilos, alias Ask The Headhunter www.AskTheHeadhunter.com, The Stupidity of Not Providing a Salary Range on Job Leads – How the New York and California laws will change everything (or nothing).

This Wednesday, November 9, 2022, 4:00PM to 5:00PM EDT, I will be interviewing Nick Corcodilos, alias Ask The Headhunter - www.AskTheHeadhunter.com.

Our topic will be:

The Stupidity of Not Providing a Salary Range on Job Leads – How the New York and California laws will change everything (or nothing).

What we will be discussing:

- What will be the effect of this new law?
- Every law can be gamed. Won’t HR use this law against me somehow?
- Are there benefits for job seekers?
- How does knowing the salary range help me?
- How will new law affect my negotiating strategy?
- What are consequences when company violates this law?
- In your book, Keep Your Salary Under Wraps: How to say NO to demands for your salary history, you advise never disclose your salary because that will hurt you in negotiations. Since I’ll know the salary range is it now okay to disclose my salary, especially if it’s lower?

About Nick Corcodilos:

Nick Corcodilos earned an advanced degree in Cognitive Psychology at Stanford while sneaking into lectures across the parking lot at the Stanford Business School. Thoroughly corrupted by psychologists who were teaching business, Nick became a headhunter in the nascent Silicon Valley in 1979.

Today he teaches headhunters how to recruit, HR how to wean itself from worthless hiring technology, and job seekers at all levels how to walk into a manager's office and demonstrate, hands-down, how they'll drop more profit to the bottom line. Nick has answered over 50,000 questions from his audience via his website, www.asktheheadhunter.com and his weekly Ask The Headhunter newsletter.

Nick has taught his methods to executive MBAs at Wharton, Cornell and UCLA, in-house recruiters at Merrill Lynch, and headhunters at top search firms -- most recently in Tokyo. Nick's series of "Fearless Job Hunting" books teach "how to overcome the daunting obstacles that stop other job hunters dead in their tracks." US News & World Report says, "Nick Corcodilos is the brutally honest, forthright and insightful headhunter who serves up tough love to job seekers while taking job boards and others to the woodshed." Nick’s Talk to Nick service is private troubleshooting for job seekers that face specific challenges in targeting companies, getting in the door, proving their worth and negotiating compensation.
