Speaker Bio
Valerie is a Risk Executive with expertise across Incident Response, Fraud Investigations, Compliance, Governance, Third Party Assurance, Information Security Awareness, and Geopolitics. She has been recognized by LinkedIn as a Top Voice and influencer.
She has created and led risk management for $2B and $5B revenue business units at Aon. Valerie was the Chief Audit Executive at Household Finance. As a Director at PwC LLP, was responsible for business development and service delivery for internal audit co-sourcing, risk and compliance, SOX 404, and market assessment for new products. At GE Capital’s Auto Financing Business, Valerie started an Internal Audit Function.
She works with start-up/incubator companies at the University of Chicago’s Polsky Center. She mentors entrepreneurs at Chicago Innovation. Valerie holds the following professional designations CPA, CIA (Certified Internal Auditor), CTA (Certified Trust Auditor), and a GE Six Sigma Greenbelt.
