Tracy Dieterich is a Senior Vice President for Employee Benefits Brokerage and Consulting at USI in Houston, Texas, and his team is responsible for helping employers throughout the nation design and manage their insurance programs. He started his career in the insurance industry in 1989 and has worked for major insurance carriers like CIGNA and Great-West Healthcare, as well as two of the top-five largest insurance brokerage firms in the world.


His work experience covers all areas of health and welfare and retirement plans, including: partial self-funding, mergers and acquisitions, field underwriting, employee communication and training, international coverage, 401(k) plan design and consulting, voluntary benefits and significant private equity group portfolio company and consolidation experience. His customers have included both public and privately-owned companies in almost every state, and most industries from high-tech to non-profit and from manufacturing to professional services.


Tracy was awarded the 2014 Power Broker award and the 2012 Top Employee Benefits Consultant award by Risk & Insurance.


He received his bachelor’s degree from the engineering department at Texas A&M University. Tracy also earned the Chartered Retirement Plans Specialist (CRPS) professional designation from the College for Financial Planning.


Tracy is an Eagle Scout, a board of trustees’ member for the Houston Symphony, board of directors’ member for Boy Scouts of America / Sam Houston Area Council, board of directors’ member for Big Brothers Big Sisters Lone Star, where he also volunteers as a “big brother” mentor for at-risk youth. Tracy and his wife Valerie have two young daughters and are very active in the community as well as their church.
