Presentation: Federal and State News You Can Use

Theresa and Selene will discuss some key Federal filing issues for the 2021 tax season as well as provide some insight into the difficulties at the IRS as a result of Covid-19. Additionally, they will need to revisit the CARES Act and the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2021 as there are still impacts from both key pieces of legislation included in these returns. For state tax matters, they will be discussing passthrough and corporate income tax hot topics which will impact the 2021 tax season. These topics include the Pass-Through Entity Tax Credit multiple states have enacted, update on state nexus and how remote working could impact your filing requirements and to caveat off of the federal updates, an overview of how the CARES Act still impacts state income tax filings.
