There have been many changes to accounting for leases since APBO 13, including a number of changes that have just become effective.  Here is an opportunity to learn some very practical ways to adjust to the new rules and how to best implement those changes depending on your circumstances

Topic:  Summary of new ASC 842 lease standard & how best to implement 

Discussion of key aspects of ASC 842 lease standard that is effective for private companies in 2022, including discussion on how best to implement the new standard depending on size of company and number of leases, approach, use of technology, etc. 

 

Speaker:  Tony Dinola, Partner, Advisory Services at Grant Thornton    

Tony is a versatile business consultant focused on servicing clients in many industries. With deep expertise in technology and his background as a CPA, he is focused on solving business problems across the enterprise. Tony’s professional experience has centered on large-scale transformations across the finance function and IT systems. 

 

In addition, Tony has lead significant strategy projects including IT strategy and roadmap development, large-scale ERP implementations for SAP and JD Edwards, post-merger integration services, and business process re-design.  In addition, Tony has been leading the firm’s ASC842 Lease Accounting solution, assisting companies adopt the new lease accounting standard.  In this role, Tony leads clients through the finance and operational transformation processes required to adopt the new standard. 

 

His experience has included:

  • Finance Transformation
  • Technology and Digital Transformation Strategy Initiatives
  • Merging the finance function of new acquisitions onto acquirer processes and systems
  • Leading program management efforts for ERP projects to accomplish objectives and achieve desired benefits
  • Providing governance models and structure to drive value through large multinational organizations
  • Coordinating system testing, conversion, and cutover efforts for transformational initiatives

Adoption of new accounting standards through process re-design efforts and new systems implementations.

About the Raleigh, NC Chapter: 

 

The Raleigh chapter has over 800 members and meets monthly on the 2nd Wednesday of each month from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Meeting location varies each depending on the host company. Guests and prospective FENG members are always welcome. First-timers and those who are newly in transition are given the opportunity to introduce themselves to the other chapter members and make any special requests. Most meetings include a speaker and current topic of interest to our members.
